Rumour has it that the first Android powered smart device will be launched as early as October or as late as December, 2008, in time for the holiday season. The device in question is by High Tech Computer Corp (HTC) and will be available through T-Mobile.

This smart device by HTC dubbed the HTC Dream comes with a touch screen and a full slide out QWERTY keypad, giving Apple a run for their money, and easily matches the features of Palm, Blackberry, O2 and Nokia smart phones.

Here is a video of HTC Dream in action. While it could not be ascertained if this is the real deal, industry sources said that this looks close enough to the first HTC device that will be launched with Android later in the year. Check it out.
