Rumour has it that the first Android powered smart device will be launched as early as October or as late as December, 2008, in time for the holiday season. The device in question is by High Tech Computer Corp (HTC) and will be available through T-Mobile.

This smart device by HTC dubbed the HTC Dream comes with a touch screen and a full slide out QWERTY keypad, giving Apple a run for their money, and easily matches the features of Palm, Blackberry, O2 and Nokia smart phones.

Here is a video of HTC Dream in action. While it could not be ascertained if this is the real deal, industry sources said that this looks close enough to the first HTC device that will be launched with Android later in the year. Check it out.

Before Apple could launch its iPhone 3G globally, BlackBerry Bold is here to fight for a larger share of the smartphone pie.

Enters BlackBerry Bold, basically an enterprise unit boasting a half-VGA LCD display with 480×320 resolution, powerful 624 MHz processor and 1GB internal storage memory, 3G connectivity and built-in GPS, plus a 2.0MP camera with video recording capability built in flash and digital zoom, BlackBerry Bold will also be able to meet the demands of entertainment with an advanced media player.

Right now, we have no idea how much the BlackBerry Bold will be selling in Malaysia, but I trust that it will come to our shores thanks to Celcom, unlike the elusive Apple iPhone 3G, though rumour has it that Maxis has inked the deal. I am not going to speculate until I SEE the iPhone 3G here.
